The S&P 500 was up 0.3% to 2,103.44 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5% to 18,079.05 and the Nasdaq was up 0.3% to 4,940.08.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 2% to 2.07%.
The price of gold fell 0.2% to $1,204.80.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Universal Electronics Inc. was down 10.7% to $57.09 and a $902 million market cap. The wireless products maker said yesterday that earnings per share this quarter would be lower than analysts’ expectations.
HOMEBUILDING
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was down 4.2% to $21.67 and a $677 million market cap. The builder said fourth quarter earnings declined 21% to 52 cents per share, even as sales increased 72% to $360 million.
SERVICES
Newport Beach-based Acacia Research Corp. was down 2.9% to $12.90 and a $646 million market cap. The patent services company said it lost $16.2 million in its fourth quarter and $66 million in 2014.
