Irvine-based software maker Alteryx Inc. (Nasdaq: AYX) fell 1.5% to $123.79 a share, for a market cap of $7.7 billion. Zacks Equity Research called the stock the “bull of the day’’ but cautioned that third-quarter earnings per share “could be softer than expected.”
HEALTHCARE
Patient monitoring device maker Masimo Corp. (Nasdaq: MASI) of Irvine rose 2.9% to $150.12 for a market cap of $8 billion. Online financial news service Mak Daily reported yesterday evening that institutional investors have been buying the company’s stock while sentiment for the firm rose to 1.25 in the first quarter from 1.07 in the fourth quarter.
Irvine-based Axonics Modulation Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: AXNX) fell 11% to $30.06 a share for a market cap of $860 million. The Irvine-based maker of medical devices to treat bladder and incontinence maladies yesterday reported a loss of 68 cents a share in the second quarter, more than analysts’ expectations. Net loss for the quarter was $19.1 million, more than double the $8.6 million in the prior-year quarter.
