Long Beach Airport traffic decreased 13% year-over-year in June to 307,000 passengers; year-to-date traffic is down nearly 16% to 1.7 million passengers.
JetBlue Airways represented 53% of total traffic, carrying 163,000 passengers, down 38% from the year prior. Southwest more than doubled its count to 104,000 passengers, making up 34% of the total.
Hawaiian Airlines carried about 11,000 passengers and the facility’s two other airlines, American and Delta, carried about 29,000 combined.
Cargo flown by FedEx and UPS dipped 4.8% in the month to 1,775 tons. Charter flying from Long Beach dropped 23% to 220 passengers last month.
