SVP/CHIEF DIGITAL & CUSTOMER INNOVATION OFFICER
HOAG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL PRESBYTERIAN
WHY: Head of digital strategy at health system since 2020.
IN THE NEWS: Recipient of the Business Journal’s 2025 Innovator of the Year Award for transforming how patients access and experience care at Hoag. In addition to leading Hoag’s enterprise AI strategy, has also launched Hoag’s digital portfolio, transforming care through products like Hoag Compass; 24/7 virtual urgent care, Hoag On Demand; and expectant mother informational app, Nona. Her latest initiative, AskHoag, is poised to fundamentally reshape how consumers access care through AI-supported, clinician-guided navigation.
NOTABLE: Was recruited by Hoag in 2019 to fill the organization’s newly created chief digital officer role; pivoted from a 15-year career at American Express. The unknown was what drew her to Hoag: “It’s white space with the opportunity to make an impact in an area that’s not necessarily the frontrunner when we think about technology companies.” Moved from Guyana, South America, to New York City when she was 15. “Coming into a new country, new culture, that was a pretty defining moment in how I show up in life, and the types of problems that I gravitate toward in general.”
IN HER WORDS: Inspired by the writings of Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. “I always remember one of her famous talks where she said, ‘It is not your job to be likable; it is your job to be yourself. Someone will like you anyway.’”
FUN FACT: Says she’s “obsessed with all the red-light therapy and health wearables like Celluma, Oura and Whoop.”
