Asics said it has promoted Richard Sullivan to president and COO of its Asics North America business, amid additional executive changes at the footwear brand.
The appointment is effective Nov. 1.
Sullivan is currently executive vice president, based out of the Asics East Coast headquarters in Boston, which opened in 2018. He came to the company in 2016 as president of the Canadian business.
Asics also has West Coast headquarters in Irvine, although it’s unclear if Sullivan will be coming to Orange County permanently. An Asics spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment.
Sullivan’s appointment also came with news that Koichiro Kodama, currently CEO of Asics North America, has been tapped as managing executive officer, a new position based out of Asics Japan headquarters.
Elsewhere at the company, Asics North America Vice President of Human Resources Barbara Turner, based out of Irvine, was named chief administrative officer. Senior Director of Digital, E-commerce and Retail Sean Condon, in the company’s Boston office, was named vice president of omnichannel.
Asics will also be moving one of its executives in Japan, Naomichi Hatori, to the position of executive vice president of strategy for North America in January. He is currently general manager of geography strategy division.
