Santa Ana Oks Largest Ever, Multi-Billion Dollar Development

Related Bristol on verge of starting construction soon

A $3 billion plan to redevelop Metro Town Square in Santa Ana into a mixed-use destination with apartments, cafés, outdoor spaces, restaurants, shops and other uses was unanimously approved by the local city council on Oct. 1.

Irvine’s Related California, an arm of New York City-based Related Cos., will move forward with what it calls “the largest private investment in Santa Ana’s long history.”

The 41-acre site, known as Callens Common and Metro Town Square, would be redeveloped into a mixed-use project with thousands of housing units, 350,000 square feet of commercial space, 13 acres of open space and a 250-room hotel.
