Football enthusiasts and fans gathered at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo on March 15 to support the 2025 Charity Flag Football event, an annual event organized by RX3 Growth Partners to support organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and Enloe Health Foundation.
The charity football tournament, now in its fourth year, was highlighted by 10 current or former NFL quarterbacks, each of whom played for the event’s participating teams.
Besides Enloe and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, other charities benefiting from this year’s event included Love + One International, The Brett Boyer Foundation, Saddleback College Foundation, Surf & Turf Therapy, American Cancer Society, Young 9 Foundation and Santa Margarita Eagle Foundation.
Aaron Rodgers, a co-founder and general partner of RX3 Growth Partners, was the event’s headliner. He was joined by Carson Palmer, who is now retired, and Sam Darnold of the Seattle Seahawks. Both players made a name for themselves in Orange County – Darnold at San Clemente High School and Palmer at Santa Margarita Catholic – before moving on to the University of Southern California and the NFL.
Also tossing football for participating teams were Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Daniel Jones of the Indianapolis Colts, Marcus Mariota of the Washington Commanders, Joe Flacco, Will Levis of the Tennessee Titans, Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers and Kyle Allen of the Detroit Lions.
RX3’s annual flag football tournament raised $5 million for charities during the organization’s first three events.
The private equity company was co-founded by Rodgers, Nate Raabe and Byron Roth, namesake of Roth MKM, the largest investment bank headquartered in Orange County.
The flag football charity event raised $3.5 million. Team Strut Cares, managed by Scott Struthers and quarterbacked by Darnold, won the tournament. Darnold helped raise $175,000 for his charity, NEGU, while Struthers hauled in $100,000 for Strut Cares.
