WHO: Steve Jones is the chairman and chief executive of Irvine-based security giant Allied Universal. His wife, Stacy Jones, leads the committee for Hot August Nights, an annual gala that fundraises in support of human trafficking survivors. The event, which the Jones’ host in their Coto de Caza mansion, draws up to 500 attendees every year.
WHY: Husband-and-wife duo runs and finances Hot August Nights. Stacy Jones books high-profile performers for the gala’s closing concert. Past performers include Kool & the Gang lead vocalist Skip Martin, rapper Nelly and Journey lead singer Steve Augeri.

NOTABLE: The annual gala has raised around $7.4M to date. All proceeds go to Vera’s Sanctuary, a program of nonprofit The Teen Project, which supports women who have survived homelessness and human trafficking. Vera’s Sanctuary, located in South Orange County, helps women who have survived trafficking receive therapy, earn degrees and find employment. Steve Jones also worked with The Teen Project founder Lauri Burns—a survivor of trafficking herself—to create course materials that teach Allied’s 800,000 security professionals how to identify and help trafficking victims.
