Kura Sushi Seeks Traffic Boost Through Gaming

HoYoverse partnership connects the revolving-sushi chain with one of the world's most popular gaming franchises

Irvine-based Kura Sushi USA has partnered with one of gaming’s hottest franchises to help drive customers into restaurants.

The revolving sushi chain on Tuesday said it is collaborating with Singaporean entertainment brand Hoyoverse to bring menu items inspired by the company’s globally popular “Honkai: Star Rail, ” a role-playing game that has topped 100 million downloads and generated more than $2 billion in player spending worldwide.

The dining experience will feature themed menu items with “fun character audios” inspired by the game’s popular characters Sparkle and Aventurine.

“Honkai: Star Rail has enthralled the imagination of millions of players globally with its rich storytelling and vibrant characters,” Vice President of Marketing Newton Hoang said. “We’re ready to welcome trailblazers into our restaurants to enjoy specially curated menu items and collect unique rewards that bridge the digital world of gaming with our signature revolving sushi dining experience.”
