Last year’s $145 million acquisition of Buena Park-based Leach International Corp. is paying off for Esterline Corp.
Bellevue, Wash.-based Esterline said Leach has been tapped to design and make a primary electrical power distribution center for Airbus SAS’ A400M military transport plane.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Jean-Michel Sigaud, president of Leach’s European operation called it “our most significant win to date.”
Leach plans to tap workers from Buena Park and other facilities to work on the power distribution center, which is set to be made in France.
Esterline bought Leach last summer. Leach counted about $120 million a year in revenue before being bought. It has 400 workers in Orange County and 1,000 companywide.
The Airbus A400M aims to replace the C-130 Hercules from Lockheed Martin Corp. in European militaries. Airbus has orders for 180 A400M aircraft, according to Esterline.
