Dennis Waldron, former president of Cinnabon International Inc., has signed a 20-unit restaurant development agreement with Ruby’s Franchise Systems Inc., Newport Beach.
Waldron’s territory includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Minnesota. His first Ruby’s Diner is slated to open in July in Redmond, Wash.
Waldron took the Cinnabon startup venture to more than $140 million in sales during his tenure as president. Prior to Cinnabon, he was vice president of operations at Restaurants Unlimited, based in Seattle.
Ruby’s was founded in 1982 and has 25 restaurants in Southern California. It also operates restaurants in Pennsylvania, Nevada, New Jersey and Missouri.
