Karma Automotive LLC said it named Michelle Christensen its vice president of global design.

Christensen, who counts over 17 years of experience in design, product development and brand building, will lead the strategy and operations of the Irvine luxury EV maker’s design center, company officials said. She most recently served as the senior manager of design at Nissan Motor Corp., and has worked in the field for 12 years at Honda R&D Americas Inc.

In 2010, she received the “Women On Top” award from Marie Claire magazine. Seven years later, she was featured on automotive magazine MotorTrend’s “Power List” of influential people in the industry.

Christensen will be reporting to Karma Chief Administrative Officer Jeff Wawrzyniak.
