Susan Bowman, Brian Drake, David Krajanowski and Robert Palmer were added to the board of South Coast Repertory. Bowman is a senior vice president at Emulex Corp. in Costa Mesa. Drake is an audit partner at KPMG LLP in Irvine. Krajanowski is a managing partner at SingerLewak LLP in Irvine. Palmer is a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Irvine.
BANKING
Merrill Lynch & Co. veteran Greg Mech will take over the duties of Bank of America Corp.’s market president for Orange County. Last fall BofA bought New York-based Merrill Lynch for about $45 billion as the investment manager struggled with bad mortgages. Mech also will keep his post of running the company’s newly branded Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management Services.
EDUCATION
The alumni board at Chapman University elected Arash Sayadi to serve a three-year term. Sayadi is a technology executive and 2007 graduate of Chapman with a master’s in business administration. He previously served on the Chapman Alumni Connections Council.
HEALTHCARE
Patrick Donahue, Jaci Songstad and David Skinner were elected to the board of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. Donahue is the executive vice president for Granite Homes Inc. in Irvine. Songstad is a community volunteer and fundraiser based in Laguna Hills. Skinner is a board certified anesthesiologist and has served as chief of staff and chief of anesthesia at Saddleback Memorial.
LAW
The law offices of Philip L. Hummel IV in Orange hired Mary Doerges and Michael Stoltzman Jr. as associates. Doerges’ practice will focus on employment law, estate planning and business litigation. Stoltzman’s practice will focus on real estate and business litigation.
Costa Mesa-based Rutan & Tucker LLP hired Cynthia Kaiser as marketing director. Her duties will include business development, as well as the management of community and public relations programs. Kaiser previously worked at the Los Angeles offices of Kaye Scholer LLP as founding business development manager.
MARKETING
Rancho Santa Margarita-based Dailey Marketing Group named Jeff Turcotte vice president and general manager. Turcotte will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and long-term growth of the agency. He has more than 20 years of agency management experience.
Ripe Orange in Newport Beach hired Kristin Bush as director of communications. She previously worked at Orange County United Way as communications manager.
NONPROFIT
Mel Creighton joined the board of Tustin-based Ecology Communications Inc. Creighton is the owner of business consulting company M.A. Creighton & Associates. Ecology Communications promotes the green movement through the radio, television and other media.
PRINTING
Costa Mesa-based C2 Reprographics hired Michelle Adamski as billing manager. Prior to being hired at C2, Adamski spent 23 years at Irvine-based OCB Reprographics as a billing manager and customer service manager.
REAL ESTATE
Jennifer Purpero was hired by Irvine-based Thompson National Properties LLC as associate general counsel. Her responsibilities will include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and product development. Purpero previously was an associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
Newport Beach-based Voit Real Estate Services hired John Strockis as executive managing director of asset services and Jeff Doan as director of operations. Strockis previously worked for the managed accounts group at CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. Doan previously was asset management and development controller for Shea Properties.
TECHNOLOGY
Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems Inc. has promoted two of its own as co-presidents. Christian Scherp and Sailesh Chittipeddi are set to be co-presidents after the closing of a deal that was announced earlier this year. Conexant said in April it’s selling its DSL and broadband chip product line to Fremont-based Ikanos Communications Inc. for $54 million. The deal hasn’t yet closed. Scherp served as Conexant president and Chittipeddi was executive vice president of global operations and chief technical officer.
