Rivian Automotive Inc. raised its 2026 delivery outlook after second-quarter EV deliveries topped expectations.
Rivian produced 12,613 vehicles and delivered 12,194 in the second quarter, topping its outlook of 9,000 to 11,000 vehicles. Q2 deliveries increased 14% from the 10,661 vehicles a year ago.
The Irvine-based automaker now expects to deliver a range of 65,000 to 70,000 in 2026, up from its prior guidance of 62,000 to 67,000 vehicles – reflecting a possible increase of 54% to 66% from 2025.
The increase in second quarter deliveries was driven by growth in its electric delivery vans and the launch of the R2 SUVs, the company said. All vehicles are currently constructed at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Ill.
Shares were up 7.7% to $18.50 apiece during midday trading with a $25 billion market cap (Nasdaq: RIVN). Rivian will post its second quarter financial results on July 30.
