New research suggests that Ambry Genetics’ RNA analysis can improve the accuracy of exome testing.
The study, published in Genetics in Medicine, showed that targeted RNA analysis using Ambry’s ExomeReveal test can help “resolve uncertain findings and improve diagnostic clarity,” according to the company.
Aliso Viejo-based Ambry, Orange County’s third-largest medical diagnostics and testing company by local headcount, was acquired by Chicago-based Tempus AI last year for $600 million.
“Families deserve clear answers, not uncertainty,” Tom Schoenherr, chief executive of Diagnostics at Tempus, said in a statement. “This study shows that combining exome sequencing with targeted RNA testing offers that possibility to many patients who might otherwise be in limbo.”
