The price of gold decreased 0.4% to $1,812.90.
The price for a barrel of oil climbed 0.4% higher to $69.02.
HEALTHCARE
OC healthcare firms saw gains in Monday midday trading, led by STAAR Surgical Co. (Nasdaq: STAA), which rose 3.9% to $148.96 and a $7.1 billion market cap. Shares in the Lake Forest-based medical device maker are up more than 80% since the start of the year.
Irvine-based Tarsus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: TARS) increased 2.6% to $26.14 and a $536 million market cap. Shares in the maker of ophthalmic drugs are up nearly 18% in the past month.
San Clemente’s Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) was up 1.6% to $57.72 and a $2.7 billion market cap. Shares in the company have jumped 15% over the past week, but are still down 18% since the start of the year.
