Hyperice Acquires RecoverX

Hyperice, an Irvine-based maker of increasingly popular massage therapy and recovery products, said it acquired San Diego-based RecoverX. Financial terms were not disclosed.

RecoverX, started in 2015, is the developer of a knee brace that delivers cold and heat therapy and reaches therapeutic temperatures in under 60 seconds at the touch of a button.

RecoverX engineers and co-founders Alex Aguiar and Dan Evans will join Hyperice, ahead of the launch of a “new category of recovery technologies” expected this summer.

Hyperice raised a $48 million Series A round of financing with a $700 million valuation in October.
