City of Hope Receives $25M from Argyros Family

Gift announced at gala featuring Nick Jonas

City of Hope, which is building a $1 billion campus in Irvine, received a $25 million gift from Julia and George Argyros during a Sept. 10 gala event.

Argyros Family Foundation President Julia A. Argyros announced the gift during the Hope Gala, which also raised another $2.3 million. The Argyros name will grace the healing garden at City of Hope’s Orange County campus.

“We are honored to be in the position to support City of Hope, which is saving lives and expanding access to its advanced cancer care,” Argyros said. “We hope that this gift helps people get the care they need and that everyone who walks through the healing gardens at the new cancer center is filled with peace and hope.”

The gala at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa featured a performance by Grammy-nominated recording artist Nick Jonas.
