Restrictions Back for Restaurants, Bars, More

California Governor Gavin Newsom said Wednesday restrictions have rolled back out for restaurants, wineries, movie theaters and bars in counties such as Orange, amid increasing COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in certain parts of the state.

The latest order, effective immediately, impacts 19 counties, including Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Solano, Ventura, Kings and Contra Costa.

Some version of a rollback of the state’s more stringent stay-at-home was expected with the rising rate of cases.

Bars are required to fully shutter their operations, per Newsom.

Indoor operations at restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment facilities, zoos, museums and cardrooms must also close.

Parking facilities for all Southern California state beaches and the Bay Area will be shuttered to ward off the possibility of crowds for the upcoming holiday weekend.

The Orange County Health Officer further advised in a revised order reiterating the state’s latest move to avoid group gatherings and crowds, along with frequent hand washing and sanitation of high-touch surfaces.
