University of California-Irvine will not issue COVID-19-related layoffs through the fiscal year ending June 30, a letter from the UC Office of the President said.
The commitment applies to all ten UC campuses. The system will “redeploy workers to areas of need” in an effort to “keep as many employees working as possible,” according to the letter.
UC Irvine is OC’s second largest employer with about 24,700 workers.
