Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is pleased to announce the appointments of Kathy Bronstein to Board Chair and Salman Alam to Vice Chair. In addition, the organization has elected Jeff Dietrich, Manishi Parikh and Bill Schaal to its Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to have these compassionate individuals and consummate professionals on our board of directors,” said Claudia Keller, CEO, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. “Each of them will serve a three-year term and play an integral role in our organization’s mission to provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food.”
Kathy Bronstein, Principal at KB Bronstein Consulting, has served on Second Harvest’s board since 2016 and now serves as Board Chair. Bronstein brings decades of experience in the retail sector. She is the former CEO of Wet Seal, Inc. and has spent the last several years consulting to other retail brands. Bronstein is a member of the Board of Governors at Chapman University and is a founding member of Orange County Women’s Philanthropy Fund.
Salman Alam, Vice President, Legal at Western Digital, has been appointed to the position of Vice Chair. Alam, who joined Second Harvest’s board in 2020, is an accomplished legal counsel who has managed a broad spectrum of legal affairs on behalf of high-tech companies, both in-house and in private practice for over 15 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a juris doctorate from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Jeff Dietrich serves as Partner at PwC Irvine where he works with several public and private companies across PwC’s Consumer and Industrial Products & Services practice. Dietrich works primarily with Aerospace & Defense companies across the country, and also completed a two-year tour in the SEC Services group of PwC’s National Office. He holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business.
Manishi Parikh is the Market Executive for Wells Fargo in Orange County. With more than 22 years of banking experience, Parikh serves the financial needs of commercial customers throughout Orange County. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from University of California, Irvine and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Bill Schaal serves as Partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP and has vast expertise in securing protection for technological advances made by his clients. For almost 30 years, Schaal has developed strong patent portfolios for organizations throughout the world, ranging from multi-billion dollar corporations to start-ups. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in both electrical engineering and management science (economics) from the University of California, San Diego as well as a juris doctorate from Loyola Law School.
