WHY: Irvine-based maker of tiny electronic switches designed for nearly everything from smartphones to defense systems and medical equipment.
IN THE NEWS: Decided on New York for its first U.S. manufacturing plant, after heavy lobbying by N.Y. officials. Menlo Micro plans to invest $50M in the facility in the Village of Lansing over the next three years.
NOTABLE: Menlo Micro’s product, the Ideal Switch, is said to be 99% smaller, lighter, and more efficient than conventional switches and electromagnetic relays.
