Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.3% to 3,135.38 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones increased 0.1% to 26320.44, while the Nasdaq rose 0.9% to 9,979.48.

The price on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.8% to 0.75%.

The price of oil fell 0.6% to $38.17, while gold was flat at $1,736 an ounce.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) rose 5.2% to $153.16 and a market cap of $10.1 billion. The analytics software maker yesterday introduced new products such as an Analytics Hub to help users share information and an Intelligence Suite to help users without a data science background more easily build their own predictive models. Shares have almost doubled since April 3.

MEDICAL DEVICES

Lake Forest-based Staar Surgical Company (Nasdaq: STAA) climbed 3.6% to $46.94 and a $2.1 billion market cap. Earlier this week, Jefferies initiated coverage with a buy rating and a target price of $55.
