Markets were mixed at midday amid continued economic unease and after Monday’s rally
The S&P 500 was up 0.1% to 2,956.34; the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.3% to 24,513,81; the Nasdaq climbed 0.7% to 9,302,07.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond dropped 4.7% to 0.71%.
The price of gold increased 0.6% to $1,745
The price for a barrel of oil slipped 0.3% to $31.73.
Data analytics software maker Alteryx (NYSE: AYX) in Irvine jumped 8.1% to $139.34 per share for a market cap of $9.2 billion, a day a Monday decline. CFO Kevin Rubin said recently Alteryx will “emerge a stronger company” from the pandemic.
Irvine-based Resources Connection Inc. (NASDAQ: RECN) fell 5.9% to $10.32 per share for a market cap of $332 million. Shares have fallen about 38% over the past year.
