Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.2% in midday trading to 2,714.20.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 24,722.04.

The Nasdaq declined 0.2% to 7,566.47.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond dove 1.4% to 3.07%.

The price of gold was 0.2% higher at $1,292.

RESTAURANTS

BJ’s Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: BJRI) in Huntington Beach was down 4% to $51.80 and a $1.1 billion market cap. The casual dining chain’s shares had risen 18% in the three weeks following a positive earnings report.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was down 5% to $23.30 and a $632 million market cap on, by midday, five times its average volume. Funds managed by Freeman Spogli, a private equity investor in the western wear retailer, are selling their remaining 7 million shares. Some Boot Barn directors offered another 190,000 shares.

TECHNOLOGY

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) in Newport Beach was up 7% to $2.14 and a $366 million market cap on high volume. Shares in the operator of natural gas fueling stations are up about 20% since a global energy firm said it will buy 25% of the company.
