HEALTHCARE
Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) in Irvine led a strong local healthcare contingent on Monday. The heart-valve manufacturer was up $3.15 to $138.47 and a $29 billion market cap, tops among OC-based publicly traded firms.
Edwards won a patent case over its transcatheter heart valve.
BANKING
Pacific Premier Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: PPBI) was up 85 cents to $40.90 and a $1.9 billion market cap. It’s Orange County’s most valuable, locally headquartered bank by market value. S&P Global Market Intelligence just rated it the sixth best-performing community bank in the United States in 2017 for community banks in its asset class.
