Defense company Anduril Industries will lease property at Rickenbacker International Airport near Columbus, Ohio, and build new hangars, aircraft parking ramps, and make other improvements, local TV station WSYX reported.
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority approved a 50-year lease for the property on the south side of the airfield. Costa Mesa-based Anduril will pay $588,060 per year to lease the land with the cost increasing 2% each year, the TV station said yesterday.
Anduril also plans to spend nearly $1 billion to set up a weapons-production factory known as Arsenal-1 nearby.
The state of Ohio is offering Anduril $452 million in tax breaks for 30 years for the Arsenal-1 facility. The state also plans to spend $70 million on a taxiway and other improvements at Rickenbacker International Airport to accommodate the company, The Columbus Dispatch previously reported.
