Santa Ana-based Iteris Inc. (Nasdaq: ITI) received $2.95 million, part of a five-year, $19.5 million contract to help build “intelligent transportation systems” for the Federal Highway Administration.
ITS work is part of expanding U.S. roadways’ ability to interact with smart technology in cars including growing use of telematics, tracking systems and connected and automated car technologies.
Iteris develops systems and software for transportation and agriculture; it traded recently at a $216 million market cap.
