OC’s Wealthiest 2025: Gary Jabara

THE MONEY: Gary Jabara sold wireless comms infrastructure company Mobilitie for around $1.7B in 2021 and has been pursuing plenty of other ventures since.

THE REAL ESTATE: Since 2020, spent hundreds of millions on a series of notable commercial real estate acquisitions in the state. The crown jewel in Jabara’s high-end commercial real estate, which he runs under the Costa Mesa-based Boardwalk Investments Group Inc., is The Estate Yountville, a 22-acre “village-within-a-village” collection of upscale hotels, restaurants, wedding facilities, shops, meeting space, a vineyard and other facilities.

The Estate is the largest commercial property in the city of Yountville, which is just off the Saint Helena Highway, about 55 miles north of San Francisco. “It’s the gem of Napa Valley,” Jabara said at the time of the purchase, a deal that approached $300M. The property has undergone a major renovation.

The Estate Yountville has become the place to see and be seen in wine country.

“I am thrilled to announce that Estate Yountville has been named one of California’s top resorts in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards!” Jabara wrote on his LinkedIn page.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion of our team, who work tirelessly to create unforgettable experiences and deliver exceptional service. A sincere thank you to our guests and clients for their unwavering support—this achievement wouldn’t be possible without you. Cheers to more unforgettable experiences to come!” the entrepreneur said.

SoCal saw another $270M of buys in San Diego that includes a high-end apartment tower in the city’s downtown and a prominent shopping center in Corona del Mar called Flower Hill Promenade. The latter property is “the greatest shopping center in all of San Diego,” Jabara said.

Other properties in Boardwalk’s extensive portfolio include The Garden and The Landing, both in Newport Beach, The Strand in Huntington Beach and Aliso Creek Plaza Shopping Center in Laguna Beach.

TECH: Jabara also founded the ioXt Alliance, which seeks to establish standards for security of everyday electronic items such as cellphones, smart home lighting controls, automotive technology and other products.
