Shipping Outfit Moves to Brea

Shipping company Extra Express is moving in June from Paramount to a larger headquarters in Brea.

Extra Express, which has 40 workers and more than 200 contract drivers, works with retail, furniture, aerospace and medical companies offering services such as warehousing and delivery.

The company will take up more than 35,000 square feet of space in its new facility on Enterprise Drive.

The new office will service all of Southern California.

Extra Express picked Brea for its headquarters to be close to California State University, Fullerton, and other area universities for recruiting purposes, the company said.

“When looking for a location, we gave considerable thought to improving our employee recruiting base,” President Robert Bell said. “We believe North Orange County is the place to be.”

The company has plans to add another 15 to 20 workers this year, filling positions in sales, customer service, dispatch, accounting and warehouse.

Extra Express has additional offices in Las Vegas and Hayward. The company plans to open a Denver office in the summer.
