Irvine-based Xponential Fitness Inc. (NYSE: XPOF) will expand its fitness studio footprint in Japan with a new franchise agreement with existing partner Sunpark Co. Ltd. to open new locations of Pure Barre and YogaSix in the market.
Sunpark signed a deal on Tuesday to open at least 50 Pure Barre and YogaSix studios in Japan. This marks the second and third Xponential brands for the Japan-based franchisor, which also operates restaurant and entertainment concepts, in addition to StretchLab.
The agreement also brings the first expansion of Pure Barre into Asia.
Xponential will now have seven of its 10 fitness brands open in Japan, the largest amount in a market outside of North America. The company surpassed 3,000 global locations in late 2023 and is aiming to open around 500 each year through 2026.
Shares of the fitness franchisor were down 1.2% to $12.73 apiece during midday trading with a market cap of $604 million.
