Orange County-based automakers Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), Kia America Inc. and Hyundai Motor America reported decreases in July sales ranging from 11% to 29% compared to the year prior.
The declines are the result of continued inventory shortages and supply chain disruptions caused by COVID lockdowns in China and exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to Reuters.
Mazda of Irvine reported a 29% drop in July sales to 23,393 units.
Sales for Kia of Irvine decreased 11% to 62,449 units.
Hyundai of Fountain Valley reported an 11% decline in sales to 60,631 units.
