Abodwell Interior Design, Tresor Construction and architect Mark Singer collaborated to create an oceanfront estate that combines environmentally sustainable construction with a design that grows organically from the home’s setting.
The result is the four-bedroom, 4 ½-bath home at 992 Oceanfront in Laguna Beach.
The 4,300-square-foot house is on track to receive the LEED gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The home, built last year, sold on May 28 for $13.6 million.
Every room maximizes the crashing waves and views of Catalina Island and sunsets with its high ceilings—up to 21 feet in the living areas—and glass walls.
The home features Spanish marble and natural wood finishes. It was originally listed for $15 million.
Jacqueline Thompson of Surterre Properties Inc. represented the seller, and Lillian Pastora of Remax Master Realty represented the buyer.
Front and Center
The 6,800-square-foot estate at 901 Via Lido in Newport Beach has 100 feet of ocean frontage across its 9,000-square-foot lot, a feature that made it one of the most sought-after properties on the market.
The residence sold on May 29 for $14.5 million. It had a January asking price of $15 million.
It evokes the feel of a French country house, with cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors and bay windows overlooking the water.

It also features a flower-filled interior courtyard with a private seating area, has five bedrooms and 5 ½ baths, a wine cellar, gym, library and finished basement.
Ron Millar of HÔM Sotheby’s International Realty listed the home. David Dunzer of Rogers Realty Inc. represented the seller.

Lord of the Manor
The estate at 19300 Green Oaks Road in Yorba Linda is reminiscent of a 19th-century English manor house.
Luxury homes in inland Orange County can offer a more rural experience than their coastal counterparts, often on an acre or more of land. They often have ample space for horses, private citrus groves and extra-large gardens, all with plenty of privacy. And their expansive canyon views can rival those along the shore.
The nearly 7,000-square-foot Yorba Linda estate sits on close to an acre and has a panoramic canyon view.
The six-bedroom, nine-bath home changed owners on May 15 for $3.3 million, under its February asking price of $3.6 million.
There are hardwood floors throughout the house, and custom shutters provide privacy. A custom-built rock wall and mature trees surround the grounds.
Tuyen “Tim” Nguyen of First City Realty provided the listing. Dale Wood of Zip Realty Inc. represented the buyer.
