The Avenue of the Arts Wyndham Hotel in Costa Mesa will be renovated and renamed under the Tribute Portfolio of Stamford, Conn.-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Starwood launched Tribute Portfolio in April as a boutique-type hotel style under the slogan “Stay Independent.”
Two Starwood-run hotels, in London and Miami Beach, Fla., are in the collection, according to Tribute’s website. Two others, in Japan and Palm Springs, are scheduled to join the brand next month.
The hotel’s 238 rooms and suites will get hardwood floors and granite bathrooms, among other amenities intended to evoke a boutique feel.
Event space of about 6,800 square feet, including the ballroom, also will be reworked.
The hotel is owned by Hong Kong-based real estate owner and developer Wincome Group, which also owns hotels in Anaheim.
