Another Monarch Beach house was taken off the market. A buyer bought the 4,574-square-foot house at 67 Monarch Bay Drive in Dana Point for $20.3 million, according to Homes.com.
The four-bedroom and five-bathroom estate on 0.44 acres was built in 2019 and was built on the “front row” of houses on a bluff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Andy Stavros of Douglas Elliman of California Inc. represented the undisclosed seller. The undisclosed buyer was represented by Lisa Simmonds of Century 21.
Stavros listed the property at 67 Monarch Bay Drive on Aug. 8, 2024. The house finally sold on July 28 for $4,438 per square foot.
67 Monarch Bay Drive was originally listed for $34.7 million, according to Homes.com.
The asking price dropped to $28.8 million in September, then $24.6 million in April before ultimately selling for $20.3 million last month.
Some of the house’s features include a four-car attached garage with carousel car lifts, outdoor fire pit on the rear deck and views of Catalina Island. Its community amenities at Monarch Beach include access to the local beach club, tennis courts and golfing. Dana Point Harbor and the Waldorf Astoria are also nearby.

A house down the street at 63 Monarch Bay Drive sold for $34 million on May 27, the highest price ever for a residential sale in Dana Point. The house was once owned by retired investment manager Gordy Crawford and his wife, Dona.
Another nearby Dana Point house sold for $19.1 million on Aug. 6. The six-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom custom-built oceanfront estate at 13 Ritz Cove Drive was completed in May as a collaboration between architect Mark Crane, interior designer Megan Crane and builder Tom Nicholson.
Monarch Beach is a private, oceanfront neighborhood in Dana Point. The high-end neighborhood is behind a guarded 24-hour gate, with homes typically ranging from $7 million to $20 million.
Former and current NFL players that call Monarch Beach home are Mark Sanchez, Sam Darnold and Josh Allen.
One of the highlights of Monarch Beach: its residents have access to a private beach club. Monarch Bay Beach Club offers the area’s residents beachfront dining and access to a private beach.
Nearby Monarch Bay Terrace, a Dana Point enclave to the north, isn’t a gated community and generally features houses in the $2 million to $7 million range, according to Homes.com.
