Virgin Galactic Says Astronaut Resumption on Track

Quarterly loss narrows

Space tourism company Virgin Galactic said it will resume taking private astronauts to the edge of space toward the end of next year.
Virgin Galactic (NYSE: SPCE) said in a written earnings release that its commercial spaceflights are on track to resume in the fourth quarter of next year with private astronaut flights following 6 to 8 weeks later.
The company had said in August that the astronaut space journey resumption was “on track for fall 2026.”
In today’s earnings release, Virgin Galactic said third-quarter revenue was $400,000, above analysts’ estimates, while the quarterly net loss narrowed to $64 million from $75 million in the same period a year earlier.
Shares in Virgin Galactic rose 4.5% to $3.46 apiece in after-hours trading after closing down 8.6%.
