Huntington Beach-based AstroForge, which aims to extract precious metals and other valuable materials from asteroids, said today it has received a $40 million Series AÂ financing.
The funding round was led by Nova Threshold with participation from Alexis Ohanian’s 776, Initialized, Caladan, YC, Uncorrelated Ventures and Jed McCaleb. That brings the total funding raised to date to $55 million.
In addition to the new funding, AstroForge announced their third mission, which will see their vehicle, Vestri, launch aboard Intuitive Machines’ IM-3 and dock on the company’s target asteroid.
