Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) has reportedly acquired transcatheter aortic valve replacement company JC Medical for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition gives Edwards access to JC Medical’s portfolio, including the intellectual property and commercial rights to its transcatheter aortic valve replacement J-Valve System to treat severe aortic regurgitation.
JC Medical was previously owned by Singapore-based medical device company Genesis MedTech.
Edwards also made an equity investment of $25 million in Genesis to support product and market development efforts, according to the release.
Today’s news comes after Edwards last month announced it was acquiring JenaValve Technology, Endotronix and Innovalve Bio Medical.
