Chef Sang Yoon Opens Tiny’s Burger at South Coast Plaza

Marks the first location of chef’s new fast-casual concept

Chef Sang Yoon, the creator of Father’s Office gastropubs in Los Angeles, is opening a new fast-casual burger concept at South Coast Plaza on June 15.

Called Tiny’s Burger, the space is designed as a mix of an American burger stand with a Japanese Konbini-style snack shop.

The menu, created alongside Chef Nanor Harboyan, includes a dry-aged beef burger with caramelized gochujang and ssamjang sauce, a Tokyo Dog covered in bonito flakes and furikake, beef chili with Chinese chili crisp seasoning, salt & vinegar tots and miso mac ‘n’ cheese. There are also specialty Japanese snacks and drinks available to purchase inside.

Chef Yoon said he waited 10 years to open a restaurant at the Costa Mesa shopping center, looking for the right location. Tiny’s is opening across the way from Caló Kitchen + Tequila.

“Tiny’s is about craveable comfort food refined with ingredients I love,” Yoon said in a statement. “We wanted to create a space that feels nostalgic but entirely fresh mixed with a menu that seems familiar yet new.”
