Toshiba Extends Deal For Staples Center, LA Live

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. of Lake Forest has extended a longstanding relationship with sports entertainment company AEG.

The two companies said Toshiba remains a founding partner of Staples Center in downtown L.A., and the official digital signage and display provider of L.A. Live next door.

Additionally, Toshiba becomes the official copier and multifunction printer provider of AEG, Staples Center, L.A. Live, the LA Kings, and select AEG Presents festivals.

Toshiba will also become an official partner of the LA Galaxy, Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, and Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., as part of the deal. AEG has ownership stakes in each of those teams and facilities.

The two sides said the deal is multiyear and worth “multimillions” without providing a dollar figure.

As a founding partner, Toshiba will continue to receive premium indoor and outdoor signage in and around Staples Center, including LED rotation on the scoreboard during all publicly ticketed events.

In Orange County, Toshiba is also the official document solutions partner of the Anaheim Ducks. Toshiba’s e-studio print fleet is deployed across the team’s Honda Center home, corporate offices and nearby Anaheim Ice training facility, Bill Melo, chief marketing executive for Toshiba America Business Solutions told the Business Journal.

‘Feeder Market’

AEG’s Vice President of Global Partnerships Jon Werbeck told the Business Journal that “Orange County is definitely a market of interest of ours to work with different brands that are based there.

“It’s certainly a feeder market to southern California as well, so we’re certainly looking into seeing what the other professional sports are doing and things along those lines,” he added.

Toshiba, with 323 employees in Orange County, is looking to reap advantages from its partnership with AEG.

“Our longstanding relationship with AEG, a global leader in sports and entertainment, represents a powerful opportunity for Toshiba to feature our technology across some of the world’s most iconic entertainment venues, sports teams and live events,” Melo said.

“We are proud that AEG has also selected us to help enhance office productivity and document security with our award-winning copiers and printers.”

Toshiba America Business Solutions provides copiers, printers, managed document services and digital signage for businesses throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America.

The company also offers “Encompass’’ services that enable clients to print less and optimize workflow while improving energy efficiency among its other products.
