Crude oil rose 1.5% to $42.07.
Gold fell 0.7% to $1,872.20.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 1.3% to 0.883%.

Irvine developer FivePoint Holdings LLC (NYSE: FPH) jumped 12% to $5.30 and a $788 million market cap. The trading volume of 512,419 was almost five times the daily average. Shares are still down about 43% since their 52-week high in February.
TECHNOLOGY
Veritone Inc. (Nasdaq: VERI) climbed 12% to $13.80 and a $385 million market cap. Shares of the Costa Mesa maker of artificial intelligence to track media ads have almost doubled in the past two months.
