The price of oil increased 2.8% to $53.45 a barrel.
RESTAURANTS
OC restaurants chains were down, fueled by the disappointing performance of Brinker International Inc. (NYSE: EAT), operator of Chili’s and Maggiano’s.
El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: LOCO) in Costa Mesa declined 2.2% to $16.91 and a market cap of $661 million.
Lake Forest-based Del Taco Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: TACO) decreased 1.6% to $10.70 and a market cap of $404 million.
Habit Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: HABT) in Irvine was down 3% to $10.58 and a $276 million market cap.
BJ’s Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: BJRI) in Huntington Beach fell 0.6% to $52.87 and a $1.1 billion market cap.
