Midday Stock Roundup

Major indexes fell today on a rise by U.S. Treasury yields, which hit a multi-year high of 3.2%.

The S&P 500 fell 1.1% to 2894.54.

The Dow Jones was down 1% to 26,560.02.

The Nasdaq dropped 2.1% to 7,860.09.

The price of gold was down 0.1% to $1,202.

Retail

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) declined 9.4% to $26.47 and a $740.9 million market cap. Shares of the Irvine-based lifestyle retail chain, which sells western and work-related footwear, apparel and accessories, have fallen 16% since a 52-week high on Sept. 12. The stock is still up almost four-fold from a year ago.

Healthcare

Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) was down another 2% to $152.49 and a nearly $32 billion market cap. Shares of the Irvine-based heart valve maker are now down 12% this week after last week’s 13% spike on favorable reports by analysts and rumors that it might be bought by Johnson & Johnson.
