Markets were up overall on news that many oil producing countries are willing to sign on to OPEC output cuts.
The S&P 500 was up 0.4 % to 2,147.65. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5% to 18,244.60. The NASDAQ was up 0.2% to 5,252.70.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.3% to 1.74%.
The price of gold was up 0.6% to $1,271.
MANUFACTURING
Foothill Ranch-based Kaiser Aluminum Corp. was down 2.5% to $79.42 and a $1.4 billion market cap. The metals maker plans to release third quarter financial results after the markets close on Wednesday. Analysts estimate the company to report revenue of about $325.7 million, down about 2.3% from the previous quarter.
BANKS
Irvine-based Banc of California Inc. is up 17.4% to $13.21 and a market cap of $656.9 million on 12 times its usual trading volume. The bank reported third quarter revenue of $161.6 million, up about 52% from a year ago. The bank released its financial results a day earlier than scheduled after the stock closed at $11.24 on Tuesday afternoon.
HOME CONSTRUCTION
Aliso Viejo-based The New Home Company Inc. is up 6.6% to $10.34 and a market cap of $214.2 million. Analysts estimate the homebuilder to report third quarter revenue of about $279.9 million, a 95% increase from the previous quarter. The company plans to release financial results before the market opens on Nov. 4.
