Behr Paint Displays Newest Color Trends

Behr Paint Co. has a few ideas—15 to be exact—for those looking to refresh their space with a new coat of paint.

The Santa Ana-based paint, primer, and stain manufacturer unveiled last month its 2020 color trends palette, which is meant to invoke exploration and balance.

The new color palette includes 15 colors and was made for residential and commercial applications.

Vice President of Color and Creative Services Erika Woelfel said the colors work for modern and traditional commercial environments from creative office spaces to hospitality venues.

“As residential and commercial design trends continue to blend, this eclectic palette of balanced neutrals, earthy greens, lavish oranges and more will offer professional designers and DIYers an opportunity to transform spaces into experiences that not only enhance the aesthetic of an environment, but impact how people feel,” Woelfel said in a statement.

The palette was divided into three “stories”—Worldhood, Restore, and Atmospheric.

Worldhood offers colors like red pepper and rumba orange that’s geared toward the hospitality industry because of its warm and rustic tones “inspired by exotic travels,” according to Woelfel.

Those under the Restore category are colors in blues and greens that encourage balance and a “soothing sanctuary.”

The last story, Atmospheric, includes pastels and neutrals in shades like dusty lilac and creamy mushroom, ideal for multifamily housing or other commercial spaces.

The line is available exclusively at Home Depot.

Behr is one of the largest suppliers of architectural paint and exterior wood care. The company along with its affiliated businesses reported about $2 billion in sales last year, according to regulatory filings. It employs more than 1,000 across its facilities in Santa Ana and is one of the largest employer’s in the city.
