ThalesRaytheon Wins $120M Swiss Deal

ThalesRaytheonSystems Co., a venture of Raytheon Co. and France’s Thales Group with its U.S. base in Fullerton, said Tuesday it won $120 million in contracts from Switzerland’s defense procurement agency.

The maker of radar and command and control systems is set to upgrade Swiss Air Force jets with gear that links them with other plans and bases. The project is slated for completion in 2008.

Work is set to be done in Fullerton and France.

The award is the seventh phase of an ongoing Swiss contract that began in 1998.

ThalesRaytheonSystems formed in 2001. The operation has more than $600 million in yearly work.

As with the Swiss work, most of ThalesRaytheonSystems’ business was assigned to it after it formed, according to Kim Kerry, chief executive of ThalesRaytheonSystems-USA in Fullerton.
