Architecture
Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo Architects, Newport Beach, promoted Charles J. Wyse and James L. Grady to associates. Wyse has been with the firm for 10 years and was most recently project manager for the Grand Mansion at MGM in Las Vegas. Grady, a seven-year veteran of the firm, has worked on a variety of resort, hotel and leisure projects, including the Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood & Highland by Trizec-Hahn.
Ware & Malcomb Architects Inc., Irvine, hired William A. Keene as senior project manager. Keene, who was most recently with Holmes & Narver, will oversee and manage both architectural staff and projects.
Thomas P. Cox: Architects (TCA) added Johanne Siemons as business development manager and Jai Kim as senior designer to its Irvine business development team. Prior to joining TCA, Siemons was project coordinator for Legacy Partners; Kim held positions with SGPA Architecture and Planning, the Hill Partnership Inc. and Richard Brooks & Associates.

Fred Hoar joined Angel Strategies LLC, Newport Beach, as the chairman of its advisory board. Hoar previously was vice president of corporate communications for Apple, Fairchild, Genentech and RCA in Silicon Valley and is co-founder of the Silicon Valley Band of Angels.
Frank Smith was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sunwest Bank, Tustin. Smith joined Sunwest Bank in 1993 prior to which he was with United California Savings Bank and Ernst & Young LLP.

The Irvine office of Hammon, Jensen & Wallen Inc., a land-based mapping firm, hired Darryl L. King as project manager to handle the firm’s Southwest region.
Engineering
Gordon D. Davis, a 30-year industry veteran, joined Jacobs Facilities Inc. as its health and research market sector leader for the Western United States. Davis, whose expertise is in healthcare facilities, will be based at the company’s Irvine office.

South Coast Repertory, Costa Mesa, appointed two managers to its executive staff: Tom Aberger, who joins SCR as production manager, and Nicki Genovese, who has been with SCR since last October and was promoted to business director.

Peter Lo was appointed director of management information systems for Safeco Select, Santa Ana. The 15-year technology and management veteran recently was chief information officer for Fullerton-based Vista Paint Corp.

Brower, Miller and Cole, Newport Beach, hired Summer Emmons as production manager. The public relations and marketing firm specializes in commercial real estate, retail development and entertainment clients.

The California Endowment, a state health foundation, appointed Gwen Foster program officer to work with community-based organizations in Orange, Los Angeles and Ventura counties to identify and address health-related needs.
Publishing
Jana Perry joined Freedom Communications Inc.’s headquarters in Irvine as manager of corporate information. She succeeds Nancy Souza who was promoted to director of communications for the Orange County Register.
Nancy Cheever and Anastacia Grenda joined Orange Coast Magazine as editor and managing editor, respectively. Both came from the Los Angeles Times community newspaper division, Times Community News.
Real Estate
Michelle Renee Pate was promoted from director of sales and marketing to vice president of Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc., Irvine. Prior to joining Keystone, Pate worked for Investors’ Property Services, the Sares-Regis Group and Greystone Homes.
MBK Homes Ltd., a division of MBK Real Estate Ltd., hired George Schader as vice president, land acquisition. Schader is based at the company’s Irvine headquarters and is responsible for all aspects of land acquisition and planning.
USAA Realty Co. added Arthur J. Holland to the firm as director of real estate services for its Western region. Holland, who has worked in the local real estate industry for more than 10 years, is based in the company’s Irvine office.

Day Corp., Newport Beach, appointed David Palmore to president and chief operating officer. Palmore will head the company’s United States operations. Day Corp. also added Steve Cardona as vice president of business development and strategic alliances and Miles Mahoney as vice president of sales.
