ACCOUNTING
Michelle Walters has been elected president of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants for 2002-2003. She succeeds David L. Duner of Irvine.
AVIATION
Heather Kidd has joined Woodbridge, N.J.-based NetJets Inc., operator of private business jets, as sales vice president. She will be responsible for sales from Orange County to San Diego.
BANKING
Union Bank of California has promoted Villa Park resident Robert J. Olson to senior vice president in its energy capital services division.
BUSINESS SERVICES
Barbara Wagner has relocated from the Clark Construction Group Inc.’s Bethesda, Md., headquarters to Costa Mesa, where she will lead Southern California business development. Wagner is a vice president with the company.
The Costa Mesa office of Deloitte & Touche will add three new partners and a director to its tax services practice. Joining the firm as partners are Scott Mund, who will work in the international tax services area, and Paul Prescott, who joins the firm in the lead tax services area. Mark Chao will be providing multi-state tax services as a director.
CONSTRUCTION
Jackie L. Buck, chief financial officer of Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction, has been elected treasurer of the Construction Financial Management Association for the 2002-2003 term. She has been a member since 1986, and has served at both national and local levels.
EDUCATION
Dr. Ding-Jo Currie has been selected as the new president of Coastline Community College. Currie will replace Dr. Leslie Purdy, who retires this month. She was assistant superintendent/vice president for economic and community development at Rio Hondo College in Whittier.
ENGINEERING
David L. Hunt has been appointed senior vice president and regional manager of the Willdan Group’s Orange County regional operation. Hunt has more than 26 years of experience in master planning. Willdan, an engineering, planning and financial management company, has offices in Anaheim and Foothill Ranch.
Western Pacific Housing has promoted Barbara Murakami to land development manager of its Orange County/Inland Empire division. Murakami was a project manager for the company and will purchase all offsite improvements and maintain relations with project associates.
LAW
The Law Offices of John R. Alcorn added two associates, Suzanne Brummett and Catalino Dumlao III, to its immigration and nationality law firm. The firm also hired Joni Fisher-Walton, who will serve as vice president for global development.
NONPROFIT
The American Lung Association of Orange County Board of Directors has appointed Glenn Maddalon executive director. Maddalon was executive director at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center Foundation.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Laer Pearce & Associates, a Laguna Hills-based public relations firm, promoted Donna Anderson to account executive and Scott Starkey to assistant account executive.
Western Growers Association, an Irvine-based trade association representing produce and nut farmers in California and Arizona, named Porter Novelli and Lawrence & Ponder Ideaworks as its agencies of record. They will help the association with branding and public relations.
REAL ESTATE
Corona-based Temps Plus Inc. President Louie Norwood has been presented the Hall of Fame Award by the Inland Empire Sales and Marketing Council of the Southern California Building Association. He was given the award at the SMC’s Laurel Awards ceremony.
Norwood’s Temps Plus is a staffing agency serving the southern California building industry. He is a former division sales manager for Centex Homes and has more than 25 years experience in real estate.
Beazer Homes Southern California has hired Sally Keefer to sell at Sycamore Springs, its new community in Oceanside. Keefer has more than 25 years of real estate experience.
Jack Inglis has been named managing director of the Western Region for GE Capital Real Estate’s North America Debt business in Irvine. Inglis has been with GE Capital Real Estate for 15 years.
TECHNOLOGY
Lou Metcalf has been named vice president of sales for Seal Beach-based Performance Solutions Technology LLC, a provider of management software. Metcalf, who is based in the Washington D.C., area, previously served as director of Eastern region sales for Pacific-Edge Software Inc.
