Brea-based Reborn Coffee Inc. has appointed Thomas Tran as its new chief operating officer. Â
With over 25 years of experience in technology-enabled businesses, Tran was also named the specialty coffee chain’s chief technology officer. Â
Tran was most recently chief executive of the company he founded, ZAP Technologies. His background in both tech platforms and operating systems, which includes omni-channel commerce, merchant operating systems, loyalty platforms and multi-location business infrastructure, “aligns” with Reborn’s growth plans, the company said in a statement. Â
“Thomas brings deep experience in building scalable technology platforms and merchant operating systems and we believe his leadership will help strengthen our internal infrastructure and position Reborn for sustainable long-term growth,” co-CEO Jay Kim said. Â
Reborn in May reported revenue tripled to $5.2 million for the quarter ended March 31 (Nasdaq: REBN). Shares were up 2% to $2.08 apiece during midday trading on May 28 with a market cap of $17 million. Â
