Sonace of San Clemente appointed Chip Brown chief executive officer. Brown joined Sonace in 1999 and was chief operating officer prior to the promotion.


BUSINESS SERVICES

Steve Shipley was named vice president of executive services for the Southern California region for Right Management Consultants Inc.’s Irvine office.

Janet Bowden joined Aquent in Newport Beach as a business development specialist.

Sir Speedy of Mission Viejo hired Bridget DiRico as corporate communications manager. Before joining the company, DiRico was an account executive at the T & O; Group in Irvine.


CONSTRUCTION

Suket Construction Inc., Santa Ana, named Rick McCourt director of safety and compliance.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING

David Freytag joined Jones & Stokes and will manage the firm’s Irvine branch office.


FINANCIAL SERVICES

Health Care Property Investors Inc., Newport Beach, elected Warren “Ned” Spieker Jr. to its board. Spieker is a trustee of Equity Office Properties Trust and the former chairman and chief executive officer of Spieker Properties.


GOVERNMENT

The Municipal Water District of Orange County hired David Cordero community relations programs supervisor. Previously, Cordero was an advocate and spokesperson on housing issues in Orange County.


HEALTHCARE

Kenneth Deck of Laguna Hills was appointed Saddleback Memorial Medical Center’s cancer liaison physician to the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer. Deck is medical director of the Saddleback Breast Center.

PacifiCare Behavioral Health, Laguna Hills, hired Maria Connelly as vice president of sales and marketing. Connelly began her career with PacifiCare Behavioral Health as director of provider and client services. The unit of Santa Ana-based PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. also hired Kerry Matsumoto as vice president of information technology. Matsumoto has been with the company for six years.


MEDIA

Toastmasters International of Rancho Santa Margarita named Donna Groh executive director. Groh will head a 58-member staff with a $7.5 million operating budget.


NONPROFIT

Ken Petersen, vice president business development officer at First American Trust in Newport Beach and Teresa Conk, vice president of business development at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, were added to the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana.


REAL ESTATE

Kathleen Fox joined Donahue Schriber in Costa Mesa as senior leasing representative. Schriber was a senior associate at Strategic Retail Advisors in Newport Beach before joining the company.

Ware Malcomb, Irvine, hired Jesse Ramirez as project manager for the commercial industrial group in the Irvine office. Ramirez was a project manager for Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. before joining Ware Malcomb.

Kevin King was hired as senior investment associate for Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Brokerage Co. in Long Beach. King joined the company in 1995 as a sales associate focusing on multifamily properties in the Long Beach market.

Crown Realty & Development in Irvine appointed Don Smith as vice president of acquisitions.

Collins Commercial of Irvine hired Bruce Singer and John Gulugian as real estate agents. Singer specializes in Southern California shopping center investments and Gulugian in apartment investments.

Gregory Richardson was promoted to vice president of Johnson Capital Group Inc. in Irvine. Richardson has been with Johnson Capital since 1999.

Coreland Carlson hired Trey Trask as a leasing and sales agent for the Tustin firm.


RETAIL

Nancy Feightner was appointed vice president and general manager of the Irvine Spectrum Center. Before joining the Irvine Spectrum Center, Feightner spent 14 years as general manager of the Westminster Mall. Christina Bremner was named director of sales and marketing and Kris Kopensky was named attractions manager.


TECHNOLOGY

Jake Munsey was promoted to vice president of marketing and creative for Broadband Interactive Group in Irvine.


TRAVEL

Lisa Brooks was promoted to corporate account supervisor for the Western region of Adelman Travel Group in Irvine. Lexa Fitzgerald joined the company as regional sales manager for Los Angeles and Orange counties.
